I hate that we lost this game for Wisler. He did exactly what he was supposed to do as a starter. He went 8 innings and only gave up 3 runs. That's enough for most teams to have a shot to win a game. It's a quality start by the statistics. And frankly, he only gave up 2 runs through 7 innings, and the Braves had ample time to get a lead.
But these Braves can't hit. The team had 6 hits, 2 runs, and by some miracle Freddie hit another homer. We're at EIGHT homers now, everybody rejoice. Except we lost 3-2. This is one of those rare games where the pitching was good, the bullpen was good, Freddie Freeman was good, and we still lost. Mostly because except for Freddie and Ender Inciarte who combined for 4 of the 6 hits, and the 2 runs scored, the rest of the team was useless.
Markakis, 0-3 with a walk
Beckham, 0-2 with a walk
Kelly Johnson had a PH that gave the Braves a shot in the 9th after Freddie hit his solo homer, but alas nobody could get him in. Meanwhile Wisler watched another good pitching performance go by the wayside. He's very talented and the future looks bright for him on the mound, so that's what I really care about right now over the win/loss column. But I'm also not going to pretend that watching this team lose like that night after night is fun. Especially when they are at home.
Stop playing Aybar. Stop it now. He's awful. I'm going to say it every game he plays until they finally bench his sorry butt.
